Pure
Fishing owns Berkley and has many products it makes for
anglers both fresh and saltwater.
As a
professional guide I try many different things to see
how they work and how I can use them on my charters.
When
Berkley came out with Gulp in the summer of 2005,
they revolutionized artificial fishing. Is it fair to the
fish? Sometimes I say no, because it works so well. With its imbedded
scents and life-like qualities, it's no wonder why it fools so many fish.
Gulp comes
in many different sizes, shapes, and colors from
shrimp, swim-baits, to the bigger offshore baits to use for a variety
of applications. Its use is almost limitless.
Throughout the year I use a many different
products on my charters, but one thing I always have are
a few bags of Gulp.
Here I've
shown the 3" & 4" shrimp in a few
different colors: Glow, Salt & Pepper, Nuclear
Chicken and Mango Ripple. These four colors do well at
producing quality catches on my charters and in my
tournaments.
If you're
out this spring, and you rig a Berkley
Gulp shrimp or jerk shad on a 1/4oz jig, your chances of
getting a good strike are good.
I'll
be doing product reviews a couple of times each month.
Check
back to see what I've tried out and what my thoughts are.
